The City of Selah Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing quality of life by providing safe, well-maintained parks, engaging programs, and welcoming spaces where our community can gather, play, and grow. From youth sports and recreational programming to community events and facility rentals, Selah Parks and Recreation offers opportunities for residents of all ages to stay active and connected.
Parks & Facilities
Selah’s park system consists of six parks, three mini-parks, and the Selah Civic Center, each offering unique amenities and experiences. Our parks range from neighborhood green spaces to regional athletic complexes that host local leagues, community events, and state-level tournaments. Signature facilities such as Carlon Park and McGonagle Park support a strong tradition of youth and competitive sports, while other parks provide playgrounds, open space, and areas for families to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Athletics & Recreation Programs
Selah Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of recreational programs designed to promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and fun. Our programs include youth and adult sports such as basketball, soccer, flag football, adult softball, tennis, and wrestling, along with seasonal camps and enrichment opportunities. Whether participants are trying a sport for the first time or continuing to build their skills, our programs emphasize positive experiences, community involvement, and age-appropriate development.
Selah Civic Center
The Selah Civic Center serves as a central gathering place for the community and is home to many classes, meetings, and special events throughout the year. The facility features a large banquet room that can accommodate up to 300 people, two smaller meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and foyer, along with ample paved parking. The Civic Center is also available for private rentals, making it an ideal location for banquets, receptions, meetings, and celebrations.

Our parks host everything from local youth leagues to regional tournaments, and our facilities support community celebrations, educational programs, and private gatherings. We strive to create welcoming spaces that encourage connection, inclusivity, and pride in our community.
Our Team
Selah Parks and Recreation is led by a dedicated team committed to serving the community. Zack Schab, Community Services Director, oversees department operations and long-term planning. Ron Anderson, Facilities Manager, ensures our parks and facilities are safe, clean, and well maintained. Taryn Franck, Youth Sports Coordinator, manages recreational programming and youth athletics, working closely with volunteers, coaches, and families to provide quality experiences for participants.
